DESCRIPTION:Share this:YogaJaya International Intensive Teacher Training Individual Modules \nThe YogaJaya Teacher Training can be attended as an entire course and or individual modules. Completed Modules will be credited toward our YogaJaya Teacher Training Accreditation (YJA) and certain modules can also count as continuing education and training for Yoga Alliance registered teachers. \nmore info on CET programs….. \nDave will be offering a series of four modules focusing on finding balance and facilitating personal growth and life transformation. \nWith our lives becoming increasingly busy and complicated\, it is easy for our minds and bodies to get out of balance\, creating disturbances on all levels of life. To be able to live healthy and rewarding lives\, we therefore need to recognize our personal needs on all levels: physical\, mental\, emotional\, relational and spiritual. \nBy understanding ourselves better\, who we are and how life works\, we can find personal balance and take a path of constructive development by making the right choices\, saying the appropriate things\, and responding to life’s challenges in ways that result in positive outcomes. \nDave will be drawing on Ayurvedic principles interpreted in a contemporary way\, as well as nutrition\, psychology\, and communication ethics to help module participants understand how to achieve personal balance and improve the quality of their lives and relationships. \nThese modules will be open to all. Module 3 and 4 will develop and extend areas covered by Dave in the YogaJaya teacher training program\, so if you are a YogaJaya teacher training graduate who enjoyed Dave’s classes\, there will be something here for you also. \nThe sessions will offer powerful insights into manifesting goals and realizing personal potential. It will also provide great tools for expanding capacities for yoga teachers and teacher trainers. \nPART 1\n Understanding Our Uniqueness and Moving Forward Through Ayurveda\, Diet and Nutrition \nNovember 17\, 13:30-20:30\n November 18\, 13:30-20:30 \nMost of us operate on autopilot\, unconsciously employing old habits in the hope that we will achieve the change that has been eluding us. The truth is\, if we aren’t getting what we want out of life\, be that personal health\, a rewarding job\, or meaningful relationships\, then something has to change. \nThe first two modules will focus on getting the basics sorted out: firstly understanding ourselves better so we can find and maintain our own personal balance and get onto our right path; secondly eating right\, so our bodies are healthy and are minds are clear enough to see the opportunities and make the decisions we need to make in order to move forward in life. \nModule 1: Ayurveda: Personal Constitutions and How to Work With Them\n November 17\, 13:30-20:30 \nAyurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning “the science of life”. While it originated in India thousands of years ago\, it offers valuable insights into how we can find and maintain health and harmony on a personal as well as collective level in today’s challenging world. \nThis module will introduce and apply Ayurvedic principles to help participants understand their own unique constitution and how it relates to their overall well-being and path in life. \nUnderstanding your personal constitution is extremely useful in helping understand yourself\, as well as others\, on a much deeper level. It helps us understand our tendencies\, both physiological and psychological\, and what will take us out of balance and what will bring us back into balance at any given time. This can be applied not only to achieve and maintain personal health and well-being\, but also to enrich our lives and relationships on all levels. \nTopics for this module will include:\n– Foundation principles of Ayurveda: the Five Elements\, the Three Doshas\, and the Twenty Attributes.\n– Prakruti: Defining and recognizing the different constitutional types and subtypes.\n– Understanding the health challenges of each constitution.\n– Understanding the emotional tendencies and personalities of the different constitutions.\n– Recognizing the early signs of imbalance.\n– General guidelines for restoring and keeping balance to mind and body.\n– Food and taste in relation to the different constitutions.\n– Exploring the relationship between food and awareness.\n– Exercise and lifestyle considerations\, including personalizing your yoga practice to suit your constitution and current state of health. \nModule 2: East Meets West with Diet and Nutrition\n November 18\, 13:30-20:30 \nEating right can be tricky when leading busy lives in such a convenience orientated processed modern world. However if we understand the basics\, as well as what works for each of us on an individual level\, we can eat well and have fun with our food\, without it becoming a stressful or socially isolating issue. \nThis module will explore diet as a vehicle to improving personal health and awareness. Dave will look at food from a modern Western nutritional perspective\, while incorporating the holistic energetic dimension to diet offered by Ayurveda and other Eastern traditions\, as discussed in the previous module. \nTopics for this module will include:\n– Food and emotions.\n– Busting food myths.\n– Making good choices: what to eliminate\, what to include\, and replacing negative foods with positive options.\n– Macrobiotic and vegan diets.\n– Raw food – what to be careful of and how to get the most out of it.\n– Super foods.\n– Food combining and how to adjust it to your personal situation.\n– Food allergies.\n– Fasting and purification.\n– Weight loss and weight gain.\n– Making transitions and having fun along the way. \nPART2\n Integration: A Closer Look at Relationships\, Communication and Emotional States \nNovember 19\, 18:30-21:30\n November 20\, 18:30-21:30 \nIn these modules Dave will focus on the principles that are necessary for personal integration and how to maintain these while building healthy relationships with others. \nThese “Part 2” modules will develop and extend areas covered by Dave in the YogaJaya Teacher Training Program. If you are a YogaJaya Teacher Training graduate who enjoyed Dave’s teachings\, these sessions will be of great interest. \nModule 3: The Dynamics of Relationships and Transformation Through Communication\n November 19\, 18:30-21:30 \nHaving healthy relationships is essential if we wish to live healthy fulfilling lives. \nLife is an opportunity to become the person we dream to be and to help others to do the same. What we become is a result of what we do\, both mentally and physically. Our diet and lifestyle are an important part of this\, however once we have them worked out\, the real test comes through how we handle our relationships\, which depends to a large degree on how we communicate. \nThis module will look at what it takes to build and maintain healthy relationships and effective communication. \nTopics for this module will include:\n• The mind\, body\, spirit connection.\n• The relationship between experience\, trauma and transformation.\n• Integrity: principles to get yourself together.\n• Critical keys to building and maintaining healthy relationships.\n• Communication tools and ethics – what works and what doesn’t. \nModule 4: Keeping Altitude: Emotional States and How to Work with Them\n November 20\, 18:30-21:30 \nOur emotional state is a reflection of the relationship between our mind and our spirit. At low emotional states our altitude on life is correspondingly low\, as spirit is not home and we are moving from our head instead of our heart\, where views\, words and actions quickly become twisted and confused. Emotion is therefore the lens through which we view and negotiate the world. As such\, it has a huge influence on how we operate and communicate\, which in turn affects the outcomes of our interactions and the quality of our experiences. Recognizing this and being able to work with it therefore determines our ability to transform the challenging situations that we find ourselves in on a daily basis. \nThis module will look in depth at communication in relation to emotional states. Expanding on the communication tools introduced in the previous module\, we will look at how to handle difficult situations to achieve positive outcomes for all involved. \nTopics for the module will include:\n• Understanding the relationship between different emotional states and communication.\n• How to deal with people who are in various emotional states\, such as anger\, depression\, or people trying to exert control.\n• Keeping altitude – how to stay positive and maintain a high emotional state.\n• The importance of passion: finding your path and staying on it.\n• Moving forward and maximizing transformation.
