SUMMARY:[CANCELLED] Elana Katz Kripalu Yoga Workshop: Diving into Stage III
DESCRIPTION:Share this:[EVENT CANCELLED] \nKripalu Yoga is an interplay of body\, mind and energy. Within the physical body is a subtle flow of rhythmic pulsations called prana\, or life force. Kripalu Yoga focuses particularly on the cultivation and movement of this energy. It is a practice with a compassionate approach and emphasis on meditation\, physical healing and spiritual transformation. \nKripalu yoga designates lll stages of practice: The first stage emphasizes postural alignment and coordination of breath and movement\, cultivating awareness of the present through classical hatha yoga asana. The goal of stage I is to allow a strong flow of prana throughout the body and to develop mental concentration. \nIn the second stage\, the inner experience is systematically deepened through meditation and the holding of postures for prolonged periods. This stage helps to develop concentration and an ability to recognize and release deep-seated emotional and mental tensions\, thus creating an increased capacity for learning and growth. \nDuring the third stage\, also known as “meditation in motion\,” the mind and body are invited to move spontaneously from one posture to another in direct response to the inner flow of prana. Stage III is an impulsive honoring of the body’s wisdom\, and it is a unique and distinctive expression of Kripalu Yoga. \nThis workshop will lead participants through a dynamic asana practice (stages I & II) that will prepare for an exploration of stage lll– a merging of meditation\, motion\, and improvisational expression. \nOpen to all levels\, no prior Kripalu Yoga experience required.
