SUMMARY:Gravity & Symmetry for better body awareness and control
DESCRIPTION:Share this:In Baseworks\, we are intentionally defining the goals of movements in a way which does not match how movement goals are habitually set by our motor system on a day-to-day basis. Breaking habitual movement patterns allows us to inspect the unconscious influences on our movements\, build better body awareness and control. \nThis VS will focus on 2 Baseworks strategies to break habitual movement patterns: \nGRAVITY is when we try to find identical body part positions in different directions in gravity – similar to how we can rotate Tetris shapes\, orienting them in different ways without any change in shape.\nSYMMETRY is when we look for symmetrical arrangements in asymmetrical forms. \nBoth these strategies rely on very simple visual imagery\, yet systematically following these strategies is very effective in changing how we can feel and control our muscles. \nThis VS will be approximately 20% theory and 80% practice. \nSave the date \nMarch 16\, 2022: 14:00-15:30 EST (Eastern Standard Time) \nWhat are virtual Sessions? \nVirtual Sessions are a “live” educational format offered on the Baseworks Practice Platform. \nWhereas the Online Practice Sessions are designed to provide the opportunity to develop your practice through repetition\, the Virtual Sessions are designed to provide real-time feedback and insight\, which can then be re-applied during the Online Practice Sessions. \nThe level of interactivity in the Virtual Sessions is dependent on the interest/involvement of the participants and may vary from session to session. \nEach virtual session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes. \nBook Event
