Debunking the mythology of core strength

The entire health, fitness and wellness industry is fixated on CORE strength development as the key to athletic progress. Often, the emphasis is either the abdominal sheath and or pelvic floor. Yet understanding the relationship that all the muscles, tendons ligaments and cartilage have on stabilizing and mobilizing all the major joint complexes opens the door to a more holistic approach to body conditioning.

Distributed Activation is one of the Baseworks key principles utilizing synchronized low level isometric contractions in all aspects of how we move.

This VS will explore how to use Distributed Activation to economize effort and optimize how the brain receives, processes, and consolidates sensory information for better learning and performance.

This VS will be approximately 20% theory and 80% practice.

What are virtual Sessions?

Virtual Sessions are a “live” educational format offered on the Baseworks Practice Platform.

Whereas the Online Practice Sessions are designed to provide the opportunity to develop your practice through repetition, the Virtual Sessions are designed to provide real-time feedback and insight, which can then be re-applied during the Online Practice Sessions.

The level of interactivity in the Virtual Sessions is dependent on the interest/involvement of the participants and may vary from session to session.

Each virtual session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.
