Are you an iPhone or an Android person? Do you prefer rock or rap music? Are you a vegan or do you eat meat? How about fish? Are you going to get married or, in fact, you want to keep trying people out? Should you buy a Porsche eventually?
Everybody has a need of belonging, a sense of sacrifice. We have the will to devote ourselves to any cause to become more than we are. There’s an open market for new values in the information technology/ current societal predicament and it’s an endeavor to manage ones existence, while trying to “fit in” and become a beacon for personal discovery.
Taking a look at what defines each person in this talk, Andrei will explore the concepts of what values get associated along small path decisions and how this helps putting a bit of order and simplicity into the whole process.
This talk is a conversation about the very real aspects of the present society, the small things that take a lot of consideration and always seem to matter despite no real value. It’s a talk about the new dynamics of life aligned with the social media paradigm, self confinement and the values of identity defining choices.

During these two day sessions, we will be using the NLP tool kit, described by some as “the users manual for the brain”. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) explores the ways in which people create their outcomes, feelings and realities through the interface (mostly unconscious) of their neurology that is communicating with every part of the body, the filters of language (verbal and non-verbal), beliefs/values, and the patterns and behaviour that result from those. How we can change these into more useful ones and the strategies to do this is the field of NLP.

While Tripsichore is known for its amazing variety of unusual postures, these have been discovered through the use of orthodox yoga techniques. These techniques have been experimented with to expand the range of what can possibly be derived from sound basics. The results have shown that there is a lot more to yoga than just standard asanas.

Edward Clark: Tripsichore Weekend Workshops
Module 1: Hand Balances and Other Inversions
Module 2: Back Bends and Kick Overs
There are two aspects to inversions and back bends – the thrill of the spectacularly acrobatic and the peace of nearly effortless balancing. Both require skill and physical intelligence. They also require a degree of courage and a willingness to experiment. There are many methods used to attain inverted postures as well as back bends and a fantastic number of variations are possible. We will look at a number of these in this workshop. We will, however, be confining our explorations to what we see as having a distinctly yogic approach. The postures will be attempted using the yogic methods concerning breathing and focus. This means that they are – comparatively – safe to attempt. A deeper practice isn’t just about achieving harder postures. Rather, it is also about the grace with which you perform them.

What type of ground is your life most firmly rooted into?
What type of sacred space have you built upon the ground of your life?
These are our considerations as we explore the asana practice from both the perspective of the physical body, and the emotional content of the energy vortices of the muladhara and svadhishthana chakras.
The body is a sacred vessel, with the capacity to assist us in our movement toward a more harmonious relationship with our emotional core. When we truly listen to what is being communicated from the body, we can often receive profound insight into our emotional state as well

Exploring Expression & Creativity through Movement Course with Satoko Horie
When healthy, we take little notice of our bodies. Yet the state of the body determines the physical form of who we are and how we present ourselves. The body is the first thing by which others recognize us, and it is central to the way that people define the ‘self’ and personal individuality. Through growth and education, we gradually cultivate behavior patterns and responses tied to emotions that are also interconnected with our body. We continuously reinforce our sense of ‘self’ through a mainly unconscious process of self-observation and self-adjustment. In this course, we aim to raise our own awareness through body movement, gradually finding how to express through movements and expressions that ignite our inner creativity.

Dave Dobson: Moving Forward: Tools for Transformation
Most of us operate on autopilot, employing old habits in the hope that we will achieve the change that has been eluding us. The truth is, if we aren’t getting what we want out of life, be that personal health, a rewarding job, or meaningful relationships, then something has to change. By understanding how life works, we can take a path of constructive development by making the right choices, saying the right things, and responding to life’s challenges in a way that results in positive outcomes, instead of painful experiences.
Dave will be drawing on Ayurvedic principles interpreted in a contemporary way, as well as nutrition, psychology, and communication ethics to provide participants with practical tools they can use to improve the quality of their lives.
These workshops will be open to all. Modules 3 and 4 will develop and extend areas covered by Dave in the YogaJaya teacher training program, so if you are a YogaJaya teacher training graduate who enjoyed Dave’s classes, there will be something here for you also.

By practising a broad range of techniques in a particular sequence, students will see how all the auxiliaries fit together and how each one is essential for the others.

Jason Birch & Jacqueline Hargreaves: Morning Practice Immersion
The essence of Yoga is daily practice, and a morning practice sets the tone for the rest of the day. Yet, it takes some understanding and skill to develop a practice that leaves one feeling refreshed, with the mind, calm and clear, for the day ahead.
The morning practice immersions will focus on cleansing and breathing techniques that generate heat with minimal effort, and then a sequence of asanas that facilitates the practice of Uddiyana bandha (gently drawing the abdomen in and up). The aim will be to avoid over-exertion while enjoying the invigorating effects of these practices. Each student shall be encouraged to work with variations and different sequences so that they might discover their own, most effective way of practicing.

Healing through Yoga & Thai Massage Course with Gweon Jung Eun
Meridians are channels through which qi energy flows to nourish and energize the body. They form a matrix within which the physical body functions. They also act as a network of communication between the physical and the more subtle energetic character of the body. The meridian healing system is based on the premise that an insufficient supply of qi makes one vulnerable to disease. Restoring qi is the ultimate goal on the road to restoring overall health and wellness. In this course, we heal our bodies by stimulating the meridian system through Yoga and Thai massage.

It is in the Chakras that Prana takes on specific forms to serve particular purposes for a balanced state of mind and body. A free flow of Prana in and through the Chakras is essential to staying in balance and to increase vitality.
This 8-week course explains the functioning of the energy centers along the spine, teaches students how to recognize blockages in the Chakras, and instructs them how to stimulate a free flow of energy, as well as how to use Chakras to deal with everyday challenges.

Practice of Pranayama & Meditation Course with Yumiko Terasaki
Pranayama breathing refers to controlling the vital energy that fills the human body. Pranayama is a critical process of purification needed for deeper meditation toward the goal of Raja Yoga -- the control of the heart.
Acquiring and then developing this skill requires a routine of practice and perseverance while maintaining calmness. This process is facilitated by building our trust in each other and by sharing experiences over a course period of up to 18 weeks. The course theme is “harmony”. Through Pranayama and Meditation, we seek to generate a harmony that resonates between the body and the mind, within and between people, and between each individual and the broader universe.

Building a Foundation to Free the Spine Course with Peter Roussel
In this course we will look in detail at how performance in asana (postures) can be measured by the effect it has on the spine. The function of the spine is symbolic of the deepest aspects of human potential. The spine is the main channel for the central nervous system and there by influences most of the inner and out functions of the body and has an effect on our sense perception. If there is distortion of the spine the flow of energy is compromised and our perceptions are altered.
This course will take you step by step into building asana from the foundation (feet) up, in ways that produce maximum lightness and stability.

The aim is to actively nourish and harmonize the movement and distribution of chi (life force or prana) and alleviate ill health by eliciting the body’s natural healing response. It is a synthesis of eastern knowledge that aims at directly affecting the connective tissue (fascia, joints and ligaments) in the body, so that the health of the associated organs is improved.

Sequestered in their studio in London, the company has worked daily for the past 15 years to devise and refine yoga techniques of asana, pranayama, pratayahara, dharana, and dhyana.making excursions out to perform their creations to audiences worldwide. Until now, their techniques have only been taught to a very few.
The concept of vinyasa as applied to yoga philosophy could either be considered very ancient or radically new. In either case, vinyasa seems to be the great contribution to yoga of this particular generation of yogis. Most yoga discipline has worked on refining one's self in the direction of greater stillness - an absence of movement in the mind and body. Superficially, vinyasa would seem to contradict this. However, the mental focus and physical technique needed to bring about continuous fluid movement can also bring one to a "seat" of great stability and clarity. The stability is not only in the posture, but in the transition between postures - to the point where there is no distinction between movement and stillness.

His latest recording, River Of The Soul, reflects a lifetime of roaming the world as a wandering 21st century yogi and troubadour.
