Apart from faith into our teachers, how can we be sure that our practice is beneficiall? Emil presents lessons from Developmental Psychology, in particular for Zen and Yoga.

Mitake Mountain Retreat
October 18-20

The retreat will be held at the spiritually renowned “Mitake Mountain”. Mitake has been worshipped since ancient times with many sacred locations for ascetic training.

Musashi-Mitake shrine is situated at the pinnacle of the mountain (929 meters), and is accessible to the public only by climbing or cable car. The Musashi-Mitake Shinto shrine is one of the oldest in Japan founded 2100 years ago, and is one of the most spiritual sites that can be found in Kanto area. MItake is considered a Japan heritage site.

Retreat and accommodation will be in a Japanese traditional temple lodging that has been preserved by the Kanai family for 32 generations with 300 years of history. Vegetarian meals will be provided.

There are several hiking trails through the mountain forests to enjoy during the leisure time. A hike to the summit where the Musashi-Mitake Shrine is situated offers amazing vistas over the Chichibu-Tama-Kai national park.
