The Scientist and The Artist

Volume One

"The first question you might ask yourself on your practice is the obvious one — Does my practice make me better?

......but more importantly — what are you getting better for? And why?"

                                                             Matan Levkowich

What and How?

During this workshop, Movement Lab founder Matan Levkowich and BASEWORKS Practice founder, Patrick Oancia will deconstruct ideas about practice and adaptive learning. On a physical level, the material is inspired by martial arts, contemporary dance, yoga, endurance sports, and contemplative practice.

Movement Lab

Movement Lab is a vehicle for realisations of Matan Levkowich's  choreographic work. His practice is influenced by his rich background in contemporary dance, Chinese martial arts, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, contact improvisation, Feldenkrais method, applied anatomy and more. He devotes himself to educate people from all over the globe about better movement and to reflect upon social and cultural conflicts through the medium of performance art. His passion for research and new discoveries inspires him to expand his knowledge and to further develop himself.

Baseworks Practice

Developed by YogaJaya founder, Patrick Oancia, BASEWORKS Practice is an accumulation of his experience as a teacher, competitive athlete, advanced yoga practitioner, artist and avid learner. It is designed to develop strength & flexibility, joint mobility, motor control, body awareness, self reflection, concentration, and relaxation.

Movement Possibilities

Movement Possibilities is part of the Baseworks Tech series. The workshops explore the possibilities of movement and the corresponding effect on learning and cognition.
