BA in International and Cultural Studies

Akiko is a 700 hour YogaJaya Accredited Teacher (YJAT700), BASEWORKS Practice Tier 2 Certified Teacher (BT2), and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500) with the Yoga Alliance. Akiko learned of YogaJaya when she started to practice yoga for health reasons. Her affinity with the BASEWORKS Practice System is linked to its design from the perspective of what is anatomically safe and sustainable. Akiko has degree in International and Cultural Studies and is also a certified Tea Ceremony and Calligraphy teacher. She is interested to widen her interpersonal and social perspectives through the study of yoga and wisdom philosophy, and aims to connect this with her existing interest in Japanese culture and heritage.
