Iva Drtina-Hall: Yin Bliss Workshop
Suitable for all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin practice can be challenging, inspiring and awakening, and forms a supplement to the Yang practice. Let us journey inside and discover a whole world of Yin Bliss.
Day 1 - What is Yin Yoga? / The Energy Body
March 7th 08:00-10:00
What is Yin Yoga?: Looking at the basic definition of Yin Yoga and the main difference between Yin and Yang Yoga. Understanding Yin Yoga to be a subtle form of yoga with emphasis on stretching the connective tissue and fascia while the muscles are inactive.
The Energy Body: An Introduction to the Energy theory that relates to Yin Yoga - namely the meridians that run along the entire body and their related function and the benefits of stimulating these meridians while doing Yin Yoga poses.
The day will start with a short Pranayama and Meditation to center ourselves, and move our Prana. Alongside theoretical explanations for the topic, there will be practical poses that will be explained and practiced by all students to support the topic.
Day 2 - The Mind Body / The Practice of Yin Yoga
March 8th 08:00-10:00
The Mind Body: An Introduction to the theory of Yin Yoga and how it relates to the mind and the emotional states. Looking at the effects of some of the Yin Yoga poses on the mind and how we can control the mind using these Yin Poses.
The Practice of Yin Yoga: A look at awakening, challenging and inspiring ourselves to develop different sets of Yin poses to complement our yang practice. Looking at when and how to practice Yin Yoga.
The day will start with a short Pranayama and Meditation to center and move our Prana. This day will focus on applying all the theoretical knowledge one has gained over the last two days and challenge ourselves to practice varying sets of Yin poses to truly find our Yin Bliss.
