Teachings of Swami Sivananda (1887-1963), one of the sages of modern India has been spread across the world by Swami Vishnu Devananda (1927-1993). This pure and deep traditional yoga from India, still continues to be practiced by many to this day. In this workshop, we will go deep into the essence of Sivananda yoga that exceeds that of mere asana.

Course Curriculum:

Module 1: Overview of Sivananda Yoga & Basic Asanas
– Saturday June 28: 08:00-10:30 

Explanation of the basic principles of Sivananda yoga and its 12 poses.

Module 2: Asana Intensive
– Sunday June 29: 08:00-10:30 

Introducing variations that come from the basic poses and how to practice them step-by-step.

Module 3: Approach from Pranayama to Meditation
– Saturday July 5: 08:00-10:30 

Sun-salutation, followed by pranayama and meditation.

Module 4: Four Passages of Yoga
– Sunday July 6: 08:00-10:30 

Lecture on Jana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, and finishing with a Bajan as a practice of Bhakti Yoga.
