It is said that when the body and mind achieve equanimity that the feet, legs, pelvis, torso, arms, hands, neck, throat andhead are perfectly balanced. As an extension to Patrick Oancia’s 2 introductory sessions, Satoko Horie will first outline the approach to building core stability utilizing muscles that stabilize the spine, abdominal region and pelvis so as to enhance an understanding of body mechanics. This will be followed by a “BASEWORKS” 2.0 Sequence.

This session will explore functional movement in relation to building the foundation that is needed to practice safely and effectively. Students will experience different types of very fun exercises that can be used as tools to prime different aspects the BASEWORKS practice.

Patrick Oancia Morning Practice Immersion 2014
Patrick Oancia has been developing his own pranayama, meditation and yoga practices for over 20 years. His teaching has been inspired by the methodologies described in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the historical and scientific research of the Bihar School Of Yoga, combined with an invested knowledge of physical fitness, cardiovascular, neurological and reproductive health.
This immersion is open to all levels of students and is encouraged for those completely new to yoga as well. Each day includes systematic progressions of pranayama (breathing methods) and guided meditation utilizing effective techniques in and easy-to-understand way.

This “All Level” certified immersion will introduce the foundational concepts of “YogaJaya Baseworks Yoga”. “YogaJaya Baseworks Yoga” looks at yoga practice as a primary functional tool to enhance overall health and wellbeing. Participants will explore these concepts in an easy to understand way that can compliment all levels of yoga practice. This is open to total beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners as well as yoga teachers.
