The sessions will include Pranayama, mediataion, and dynamic vinyasa asana. The workshop will focus on different methods of pranayama followed by meditatation. The asana emphasizes on alignment, breath and bandhas and working on stillness during the practice. Most areas of the body will be covered during these sessions: standing, hips, twists, forward bends, backbends, and invertetions.

Lance is the director of INSPYA - Integrated South Pacific Yoga Academy.After a lifetime of personal practice and teaching experience, Lance developed the unique synergy of Vinyasa and Iyengar styles that is primarily taught at Inspya.

Inspya Yoga is a dynamic blend of balance, strength, flexibility and endurance. Lance qualified as an Iyengar yoga instructor with the Australian School of Yoga in Sydney and has been a senior teaching instructor for teacher trainees with Yoga Arts Australia for over seven years. He has been practicing yoga for twenty two years and teaching for seventeen.

He has special interests in martial arts, acrobatics and meditation. Lance also teaches trainees and delivers retreats and workshops across the world.

David Swenson began practicing yoga in 1969 at the age of 13. His older brother Doug was his first teacher. They practiced hatha yoga from whatever books they could find.

David's introduction to Ashtanga came in 1973 when he met David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff in Encinitas, California. In 1975 David and Nancy brought K. Pattabhi Jois to the U.S. for the first time and Swenson was fortunate enough to be there.He then initiated studies directly with the master. Swenson made his first trip to Mysore in 1977 and learned the full Ashtanga system as it was originally taught by K. Pattabhi Jois. David Swenson is recognized today as one of the worlds foremost practitioners and instructors of Ashtanga Yoga.

Emil E. Wendel teaches a merging of asanas (physical yoga), pranayama (breathing techniques) and dhyana (meditation), to develop and deepen yoga practice.

Born in Switzerland, he has lived in Asia for 28 years, studying the dharma of India, classical Chinese history and Taoism. He lives in Nepal and India where he teaches yoga and continues his research.

He gives teacher-training workshops for Yoga Arts in Bali and Australia, and teaches Hatha Yoga in Europe.(Emil has developed his own technique from his teacher Clive Sheridan. Clive sat at the feet of his own guru in West Bengal, as well as practicing yoga and pranayama with sadhus, nathas and shakta masters all over India.)

Louisa Sear: 2005 Tokyo Vinyasa Yoga Workshop

Louisa Sear has been practicing yoga for 23 years and teaching for 19. She teaches workshops and retreats around the world. In 1987 she opened Yoga Arts in Byron Bay, Australia.

Louisa taught her first full-time nine-month teacher training course in 1994 and is accredited with the Australian government. Her course now runs every year and is registered with the International Yoga Alliance (500 hours). She also runs two-month training courses in Bali, Indonesia and Byron Bay, Australia that bare also registered with Yoga Alliance (200 hours).

Louisa has produced two yoga-teaching videos that beginners can use for home study. She has studied with Sri K Pattabhi Jois and BKS Iyengar, Geeta and Prashant Iyengar, Martyn Jackson and Eve Grybowski and undertaken long studies of meditation.

Nancy Gilgoff: 2005 Tokyo Ashtanga Yoga Workshop & Teachers Clinic

Nancy began practicing Ashtanga Yoga over 30 years ago with K.Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. As a result of her association with Pattabhi Jois, Nancy teaches with a style and touch transmitted directly from Pattabhi Jois. Nancy has also studied under Baba Hari Das and various Iyengar teachers.

She is the director of the House of Yoga and Zen on Maui. Nancy travels to Europe, the US and Asia doing workshops to share yoga with others. Miles Maeda is renowned for his creative work as a DJ and producer. In 1993 he turned to yoga and meditation to learn about health & wellness, deepen his creative work & explore the disciplines of the esoteric arts. He finished his formal training in 1998 with his teacher Murshida Rudi Moumanie Kadre, completing a 2 1/2-year comprehesive course in Hatha, Kundalini, Tao & Tibetan yogas and the paths of Tantra and Sufism. He then began performing and teaching around the world under the guidance of his primary teacher Mursshud Van Merlin creating The Traveling Love Show and DJ Evolution projects.

Danny Paradise has spent 20 years traveling "a luminous path" around the globe. He is a world renowned and esteemed teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, with an international following of students that include Sting, Madonna, Paul Simon, Eddie Vedder, Mickey Hart and Bob Weir. He teaches public classes worldwide and has done so since 1981.

While not teaching the virtues of yoga, Danny picks melodies out of the air on his nylon string guitar. He has been a professional musician since the early 1970s, playing in many of the same countries and locations as he now teaches yoga. His latest recording, River Of The Soul, reflects a lifetime of roaming the world as a wandering 21st century yogi and troubadour.
