Hikaru Tanaka: Hatha Yoga Workshop
This is a basic course designed to help beginners understand the dynamics of yoga posture techniques with correct breathing and intro to basic yoga philosophy. Beginner students who complete this course will be ready to attend YogaJaya level 1 to 3 led public classes.

Yoga has amazing effects to ones life and greatly enhances lifestyle. In order for someone to better understand the effect that fits their unique needs, YogaJaya has created a customized yoga program.
It includes a 30 minute personal consultation session to assess your current condition, followed by a 30-45 minute private yoga class in which you will be provided a custom tailored introductory yoga sequence. Additionally we will also provide advice on basic lifestyle recommendations.
New trial package recipients will also be booked into two different YogaJaya public classes based on the outcome of the consultation.

Patrick Oancia Dynamic Hatha Yoga (Tokyo workshop)
This workshop will elaborate on integration of body dynamics and relaxation. Patrick will address different aspects of the physical practice and how that can manifest into practical life experience. He will introduce a yin style approach to induce a better understanding of how the practice can affect the meridian system and specific organs to enhance physical balance, inside out. He will later combine dynamic vinyasa style sequencing with multiple posture variations for more of a heat intensive, purifying practice. Patrick encourages holding active postures for longer periods to stimulate and promote purification of the cardiovascular system, aiding in complete physical detoxification.

Clive Sheridan: Japan Debut Workshop & Retreat

All of the daily sessions Clive will conduct in Japan during the Mountain retreat and weekend workshop will start with a meditation practice and pranayama class followed by an asana class. In each afternoon session, Clive will give a discourse on the inner teachings of yoga, followed by a second asana class and finishing the day with pranayama.
The retreat will be held at the spiritually renowned “Mitake Mountain”. Mitake has been worshipped since ancient times with many sacred locations for ascetic training.
Musashi-Mitake shrine is situated at the pinnacle of the mountain (929 meters), and is accessible to the public only by climbing or cable car. The original Musashi-Mitake Shinto shrine was built 2100 years ago, and is one of the most spiritual sites that can be found in Kanto area.
Retreat and accommodation will be in a 180-year-old Japanese traditional thatched roof temple lodging that has been preserved by the Kubota family for 18 generations. Vegetarian meals will be provided.

YogaJaya at Boom festival
YogaJaya founder and director Patrick Oancia will be leading daily pranayama and asana classes at the world renown Boom festival this summer.
Boom is an independent culture and artistic expression event. It crosses different art forms like music, paint, graffiti, multimedia, installations, land art, theatre, cinema, or videoart. Besides a huge line up based on arts, Boom has a cultural hub inside it, with conferences, workshops, fine arts gallery and presentations. Altogether there are about 400 artists in every edition of the Boom festival. There’s a full multidisciplinary atmosphere within the venue.

Emil Wendel: Pranayama and Beyond, 2008 Tokyo Workshops & Retreat
Emil was born in Switzerland and has been living in Asia since the mid-seventies, studying Sanskrit and Indian Dharma on the Subcontinent, as well as Chinese Philosophy and Taoism in East Asia. He is presently conducting courses for teacher training programs of Yoga Arts of Australia and Purple Valley of India in pranayama, guided meditation and yoga philosophy, the latter a series of lectures encompassing the known history, the different disciplines and traditions, and the personalities and masters of Yoga.
